Is stacking poison actually viable instead of pure phys charms with a bow?

I know theres a lot of variables to consider here, poison resist of the monster, poison duration etc,

I somehow cant see it being better considering merc uses reapers

you probably have gear/skills that scale your Phys damage % thus making Phys charms more viable would be my guess.

also monster poison resists.

Correct, but can you get enough poison damage in inventory to break the game? such as 8 slots of 313scs or something?

Current setup

Harmony Matriarchal Bow +3 bow skills 287%ed (15%ed base)
Fort
Mavs Helm // 15ias//light res
LOH
Travs//aldurs//nats boots depending on what im running
8 slots of dmg//life//ar assorted charms
Cats eye
Raven
Dual leech ring

shooting arrows at 8frames

Merc:
Gface
Treach
Reapers Shaeled

Kill speed is pretty great, clearing chaos in less than 5

Just wondering, i heard of people stacking poison scs

yeah i would imagine it would be easier and cheaper to stack a ton of poison damage charms.

the only times i've stacked poison was to troll around in PVP, so i'm no expert on the subject.

One amulet, atma's scarab, and strafe, most likely offsets the price and effort it takes for you to get that many sc's. They are not plentiful nor necessarily cheap. And yes, as mentioned, monster resists is a thing. You can use lower resist wand on switch, but switching and casting that every 3 seconds is going to be tedious and detrimnetal to flow of gameplay. The 5% ctc amplify damage procs quite often when used with strafe, and especially if you herd the monsters just a tiny bit, which comes natural with a merc and valkyrie. And that means a 100% damage boost and breaks most physical immunes, if not all. It's great against bosses too.

Focus on sharp grand charms (10max ~75ar) and use strafe. And guided arrow for bosses.

Although harmony has a lot of elemental damage, it does have a pretty high physical damage boost too.

But, at least against bosses and boss monster packs, it can be worth and fun to try out stacking elemental/poison damage and using lower resist wand.

I do understand your experiment though. But getting 12 x 4 poison small charms like that is very expensive and difficult.

451 over 12 seconds.

451 x (8 x 4) which is 32 = 14 432 over 12 seconds = 1202 poison damage per seconds.

Now i calculated some poison javelin amazon numbers not too long ago. A venom lord in hell has about 12 000 on average, but also 75% poison resist. So it's going to take a lot of facets and specialized gear in order to make it viable. I don't know if +poison damage gear like trang's gloves and bramble increases small charm poison damage, i would think so though.

But even if you stack the inventory full, i think it might be kind of a low damage potential. But, used with multishot, means you hit enemies far beyond the screen, so they take all that damage while you run ahead.

May be some kind of viability to it.

Hey Tauren thanks for the response, unfortunately im not a big fan of atmas, for a few reasons

#1 I really like the FRW speed that Cats eye gives me, combine that with HARMONY and its pretty insane... plus with atmas scarab i will lose 20%ias which in turn slows down attack speed which will not allow me to hit at 8 frames ...imo will reduce kill speed

#2 mostly when i see mobs im spamming multi, with merc attacking with treachery, i really only use strafe at certain times for single target, like super uniques etc, if they are stone skin i use magic arrow

#3 I know amp is super good, but with Merc constantly casting decrepify, well, i dont wanna say it makes amp useless, because that wouldnt be true, but you get the point...

the poison damage on that def is interesting though
