Hello, its been years i havent played d2, anyways, i currently have tal mask, 1k def smoke and a shitty base insight on my merc, but he just dies all the time, i'm not playing sorc (trapsin) so i don't have the teleport to reposition him, what kind of gear do i need to make it immortal without the need to get him away from packs using teleport?

EDIT: what happen is, i dont kill all the mobs right, when im rushing to boss/etc im not clearing, and my merc gets behind and die, and even when im fighting with him, he can't really tank that much either

Higher base damage on his polearm will help alot with is life leech.

More importantly, you're a trapsin.. utilize your crowd control skills like cloak of shadows and mindblast and your merc should never die.

Glitch your merc with inner cloister waypoint and he wont even get hit.
