The meta probably looks something like
Guillames
Dual grief phaseblade or dual death ettin axes
Enigma
Highlords
String of ears
Gore riders
Raven
Dual leech ring
Laying of hands
Hotos on switch
Inventory full of max damage charms, torch, anni
Might merc with reapers or rogue merc with faith depending on your IAS breakpoints and weapons of choice
Str enough for gear or much more for extra damage
Dex enough for gear
Vit the rest, none, or enough for like 2k life
My personal favorite build uses grief or ebotd and lawbringer pb with treachery armor, arreats, wartravs, highlords, string of ears, raven, leech ring and pride might merc but that's not meta nor is it the highest damage. However I can go into basically any crowd of the undead, stygians, de seis, gloams, ghosts, and give zero shits about physical immunities or anything else because sanctuary is bugged and it provides a huge factor of safety. An extra 90 res, 30 damage reduction, 80% curse reduction, attack rating bonus, and an extra 6% leech is more worth it to me than guillames gore riders combo.
Since I dont use reapers toll on merc I get an extra 300ish ED from pride and the lawbringer casts decrepify right where I need it and it's not a piddly level 1. 45 IAS is very nice for when you get hit with decrepify or demonic freeze and so is the fade, which reduces curse duration on top of a slew of other bonuses.
Jsp would likely shit all over the build but I enjoy the huge benefits of lawbringer enough to overlook the lackluster damage and it can run players 8 chaos without retreating or potting.
I can second this about lawbreakers being broken. I ran grief pb/lawbringer legend sword on my hc p8 (took forever for one grief, didn't want to farm a second) and it was so safe in pits and sanctuary. I felt basically immortal with treachery proc and decrep, even if the damage is lower than grief/grief. I also have a thing about running dwarf star/raven combo to sap up extra ele dmg and flat reduction to go with SOE. I 💘barbs
