So, basically I stacked a lot of MF and stopped getting uiniques as much, and started getting a lot of set items, does anyone know what the "specific" threshold for this is? I'm trying to find the sweet spot for uniques.

how much did you stack? imo 200ish is more than enough, the rest of the investment goes into killing speed adn survivability.
or lets say 300 if you really want more than 200ish.

I'm hovering at about 300-310ish.

Just added it up, sitting at 402.
