I recently beat the game on Hell (SC) for the first time so naturally I think, "I've got this now!" Because I'm such an expert I started a HC enchantress and planned to take her as far as possible, even holding out hope for full hell. Sadly it ended on a meph run in NM. Over 15 blood lords in two boss groups in the first room of Durance level 3. Things ended very quickly. I was cruising up to that point too. Losing a HC char is a bit traumatic.

For a potential WT I saved pics of all of my progress including the death but I can't upload pics (post count?) so no visual for you.




Edit: I'm not sure if blood lords is the right name. It was those firewall spamming, meteor spewing jerks.

HC is a learning curve for sure, and I have a terrible track record with sorc, think I've lost three but I did get the last one to Guardian before biting the dust in later Chaos runs

Be very wary of unique packs even in nightmare. The wrong combo can spell doom very quickly.

I've got a fully decked telezerker working toward lvl97 on HC and even then had a few close shaves with him. Even when you feel invincible, trust me you're not

I think enjoyed my HC experience. It was fun while it lasted but it ended so fast I was left in a bit of a daze.

I'm thinking about a new HC char for a newbie WT. I've beaten the game with a ludicrously tinked windy druid (a level 99 ladder char left me all of his PERFECT gear so I don't count that) and a blizzballer. My enchantress used a bow so I'll go with something melee. Shape shift druid, spear amazon, or a barb are my first thoughts. I haven't played a paladin or barb in 15 years and I've never played an assassin. Let me know if you want to see a newb WT with something in particular.

The fact that you tried an enchantment sorc as your first HC char was looking for an upset in hell also..

Try a cookie cutter build as your first 1 or 2 HC tries to help ease the pain...

I figured an enchantress was a stretch so next I tried a barb. Two of them. It didn't go any better.
