Hi Sylvester. I'd say playing single player is unfamiliar in general and would be interested in reading up on other players who have beat the game solo and had some advice to offer!

Read the walk thrus with a lot of pages attached to them. I suggest any by Dino, Fyla, Pikabew, Creature19 just to name a few

Are we talking play through without any mods? I have 3 character builds that have defeated Hell Baal:

Lvl 87 hybrid necro - summons/bone
Lvl 89 IK barb
Lvl 88 hybrid sorc

My barb didn’t start off with IK in mind, so did a respec at 76 and never actually found the armor piece.

Sorcy uses all three elements, blizz/chain lite/ fire wall... this was a difficult build and kinda like a stick shift- not everyone can drive one. 😆

Normal:
Rerun Cold Plains camp with superboss Shaman (forgot his name) for Rare drops.
Rerun Tristram for some easy levels
Rerun Countess on /players1 till you can make Stealth + another rw if needed (only for certain characters)
Rerun Andariel after you Quest Bug her for some possible gear upgrade

Run through act2 and never look back
Repeat Act2 tactic till you reach Frigid Highlands in Act5.
Run Shenk/Eldritch for some good experience and proceed straight down to Baal and Nightmare.


Nightmare:
Run the shit out of Andariel after Quest Bug as Nightmare Andariel is easy enough, but can drop amazing items such as Vipermagi, Soj etc.
Same thing goes for Nightmare Mephisto. Drops are so juicy that it's not strange if person does 500+ Meph runs in Nightmare.
Run through Act4 and 5. If you're bowzon/javazon, spend some time rolling Anya's shop for gloves.

Hell:
Lower Kurast in Act3 is best place in game to get High Runes (superchests)

Finding Bases:
Cows or Pits with 0mf

Mfing:
Any area with lvl 85 such as Pits, Ancient Tunnels, Mausoleum etc.

Early way to get easy gold:
Collect Exploding potions, Necromancer wands, Sorceress staffs, Throwing Knives.
Before reaching Cold Plains, you should be sitting on 20k gold.


While fighting melee monsters, switch from RUN to WALK.



this is from top of my head, there's probably 20 times as much "tips" that would be useful

I would suggest watching the YouTube videos of MrLlamaSc.

He does a lot of 1 player d2 runs.
May give you some ideas.
