How popular is adding ladder runewords for vanilla (ie non-plugy) single player wts, vs just playing pure vanilla? Is there a prevailing opinion amongst SPers here? Or do you think it comes down to which class/build is being used?

Uh oh, sensible topic. Tread lightly...

In a nutshell:
Well ladder RWs are enabled via .txt in - I'd say - 90% of the non-plugy-WTs. They are just beautiful, add an endgame character and give a huge punch.
On the other side, many players think of them as being overpowered for SP and thus destroy the game experience.

I think it's up to everyone to decide for himself. Having no ladder RWs in a WT is a way more interesting experience if you ask me

There is no problem if you play with them.

The problem is when hypocrites state no modding, then enable ladder rws via modding.

When you say “via modding” are you referring to .txt files or some other method?

Depends on how hard of a grind you want the WT to be or how you prefer to play the game.
With ladder runewords some builds get a decent and farmable item build to get you through the game.
However most builds who dont have that luxury need another way to get their gear. (Throw baba, Javazon weapons etc)

it comes down to preference and how you enjoy the game

If someone says that adding ladder runewords makes your walk non vanilla then they must be a plugy noob noob head and think gulimans and shako aren’t god tier
