Hi everybody,

during my latest WT an interesting discussion started about hidden gems in the Diablo 2 game world.
Unknown details in NPC and monster design, aswell as hidden locations & gimmicks.

I think it would be really cool if you'd share your findings & knowledge, so we could all go ingame and look for these particular details

I thought it was a club but it’s actually a body....

I found a secret room in Jail level 1 the other day that i didnt know was a thing.

But on diablo wiki is apparently a well known thing.

I didn't take a screen shot but found this image after a google search - Scared me that i didnt know this existed before i stumbled onto it 20 years after i started playing

in game it has a secret door that doesnt show on mini map which is like a highlighted part of the wall, when i clicked on it the stones crumbled.

i was amazed

never noticed myself, great discovery lmao

I acutally knew about that one since the early days. It had been layed out in a PC magazin . I pay a visit to these hidden rooms every time.

Blunderbores concept art was one of the first concept arts released before D2 came out so it is pretty well known

The beds (not the piles of pillows) in harem level 2 are actually secret chests, nothing will show up if you hover your mouse over them but if you click it you'll get some basic drops.

Edit: The strangling gas potion dropped from the bed in this s/s

RAKANISHU got a name after a sneeze.

Majority of Super Unique monsters in Diablo 2 have a story behind their name. Sometimes it's a legit story from different mythologies, sometimes it's name that has a meaning inside Blizzard walls (e.g. Lord De Seis was named after blizzard programmer Rick Seis).

Rakanishu however has no mark in any mythology, religion, story or tale.
Rumor started that it got name after a sneeze.
One of the Diablo 2 streamers and youtubers contacted blizzard and asked if that story is legit, and they confirmed that RAKANISHU did get a name after one of the Blizzard employees that sneezed and made a loud noise similar to this one.
