Trying to get my ladder Runes.txt so i can have some ladder runewords

I have gotten the .txt file
I have made data/global/excel and i have put Runes.txt in excel folder.
I rune the game from shortcut with this Target: "D:\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe" -direct -txt (it is running as admin)
Try to make Insight its a no go can anyone that has got this working help me out

Check the folder with the runes file and make sure it simply says Runes if it says runes.txt erase the .txt. Or if it had anything else after erase that. Then close the game re open and you should be good

So when i do this i get Application encountered error. Not on start up but when i try to enter the game in Single player.
Edit: Oddly enough when i remove -direct it will let me load into game but runeword does not create so it might not be loading the file

Yikes. When you go into the folder does it have any other files then the runes.txt?

Yeah it has all the .bin files

Hm weird. Put the .txt back in and see if the game opens again.

Was there anything in brackets after the .txt before you deleted it?

when i downloaded it yeah but i just renamed the file Runes.txt and stuck it into the excel folder ill add the .txt back and see what happens
