Hi folks. I am thinking about doing a hardcore p8 walkthrough. I've tried before and died in late nightmare but now ive got some time on my hands.

I don't want to do an hdin and im not very keen on doing a sorceress.

I am interested in trying one of the following:

Javazon
Trapsin
Frenzy barb
Bone necro

Can you guys highlight some of the strengths and weaknesses in terms of playthrough and gearing to help me decide?

I think elemental characters (jav, sin) will be hurting in hell due to resist monsters, and melee is usually pretty gear dependent in hell right?

choose what u want to Play and which motivates u the most
yes melee Chars are gear dependent and their start in hell is Pretty slow most of the time
trapsin can actually deal Pretty good with light immunes : Merc fireblast death sentry etc

All four of those builds can be legit and clear Hell with little to no problem once the proper gear is acquired.

Personally I’d rather play a trapsin (fire then respect to light)

Or

Necro (summons then respec to bone)

IMO those two builds will allow for relatively easy progress and safe MF runs
