I'm wondering if a pure fire spec would be viable for mfing.

I understand it's usually blizz or a lit spec, currently messing with an orb/meteor build.

Would a merc infinity nullify the massive fire res issue or should I stick with what I got?

Mind you atm I am gonna be full tals until I find enough shinies for sojs and "real" spec gear.

Any advice is appreciated.

Infinity won’t break many fire immunities.

I like the fire skill tree a lot myself but it’s just not viable for many areas. It will do okay vs bosses and in areas like Mausoleum and the Icy Cellar but it falls behind Cold by a long shot not to mention Light.

You don’t need Infinity for Cold but yes

Hybrid builds are great too. You can go either fo/fb, or blizz/fb.

Same principles apply for blizz/fb, although skill pts allocation will be a little different because you want blizz as your primary skill.

Advantage of hybrid build - you can farm all areas with relative ease (even without infinity).

Disadvantage of hybrid build - you need expensive gear to match the effectiveness of a single element build (esp at high player counts).

Ahh that's right cold pierces resistance.

I'm running an orb/fb/meteor combo.

Its interesting and fun don't get me wrong.

I just wanted to see if I could cover everything with meteors and hydras.

Sadness.

I personally do orb/fw. Its big fun and works better with bad items

Firewall? Really? Figured meteor would be better

Nice guide but as you said, expensive.
So for now I'll do my slum lord tals fb/orb or a full blizz

Tals set is great and good enough to farm any area.
