I currently have a 120 fcr sorc (CL/Lightning) which is now closing in on 1k CS+baal runs without any incidents.

The problem
The runs are simply too slow (goal is to reach lvl99). The main problem seem to be Storm Casters in CS, where the merc isn't close enough all the time, thus making the sorc just lighning one monster for 5+ seconds without any effect. The radius is simply too small for the merc conv aura.

Solution?
Restat to a 200fcr Nova sorc, and do fast diablos instead (only seals+uniques+diablo) and then baal's as usual.
My idea is to switch gear to either upped viper+10fcr amu or nova ormus+20fcr amu. However, this means that my survivability will drop somewhat for 2 reasons: 1) less resist (skipping coh) and 2) less vitality and frozen armor points (because we need 2x fcr rings, and because of this probably few points into warmth + some to energy. Another option is to keep 1xSOJ/bk and go for 20fcr+viper

This should be the fastest(?) char to do chaos at least...Gonna try it!

Experiences/toughts/tips/recommendations?

I'm not sure how its improving the run??

Switching from a strong skill to a different 1 being the same element to hope its strong enough to do the same job... That just seems dumb to me., I've always heard lightning skill is the best damage dealer.

It seems you rather have a gearing problem than a talent problem.

I have a 200FCR Nova Sorc with fairly good equipment/skillers (just missing infinity, which would obviously make a big difference), the main issue is the speed of killing bosses and the stuff that remains immune.

If you're hardcore taking a Holy Freeze Merc aids survivability a little, making it less risk to teleport into the middle of mobs, your merc will have less damage without Might aura though.

Once you're really high level the majority of XP will come from killing DIA/Baal.

You can actually get surprisingly good XP from players 8 Ancient Tunnel, and nova rocks there, as there's no big bosses.

Your merc should do them easily. or just switch the weapon on teh merc if you are playing the game yourself.

200fcr is just fun to play, and if you're actually playing, you simply ignore casters that float too far away or teleport closer. Yes, respeccing for Nova would probably make your bot teleport closer and alleviate your Storm Caster woes.
