I find prayer merc to be the most beneficial to keeping your summons alive a lot longer. Make insight iron golem. Gives more freedom to your choice of merc weapon

and which is that how do i know lol which merc to pick

Combat is prayer
Defensive is holy freeze
Offensive is might

you suggest prayer aswell with summoner? you suggest insight as merc wep or inifinity for mages

Prayer will keep your summons constantly healed. I prefer clay over iron, summoner dont really need insight but its nice
