So I read the classic hammerdin walk and started 1 myself this weekend was wondering about the holy shield.. I know in classic ur block chance is based on the shield's percent..

1. But does the holy shield add to that or is it just a defense bonus?

2. If i was to skill Holy shield, how much should i invest before it becomes less of a pain to having to recast it cause of duration?

My steelclash has 65% block already so just level 1 would make it 75 if it works that way..

2. put 5-10 skills into HS to get maxblock

It adds to both defense and chance to block. The last time I made a classic paladin, I only needed the 15/10 blocking mod on the shield instead of the 30/20 deflecting mod because holy shield increases chance to block.
