this is pretty good for normal for weapons (ral+ral stronk) 3 Chipped Gems + 1 Magic Weapon = Socketed Magic Weapon
This adds sockets to a magic weapon. The original magic weapon properties will be removed (rerolled) when the new weapon is created. If you use this formula with a weapon that is not normally socketed such as a Javelin, this recipe will create a new magical weapon without any sockets. ilvl=25 magic weapon with 1-2 sockets.

Steel runeword for SP and OW in a cutlass if you are using fire for easy mode in normal.

Sigon gauntlets + belt + boots combo is real nice for an early melee toon, and pretty easy to find 30IAS, 10% life leech, 50MF, plus some resists, life and strength.

If you really want to grind normal Meph, you could go for full Cleg too. It's ridiculously stronk at low levels.
