So I'm not sure if anyone from my previous walkthrough/network is still around but it was pretty successful. We started with patch .08 and moved forward every 30 or 40 days and brought our items with us. It was named a Progression network (named after the Everquest Progression Servers that started in classic and moved through every patch). Sadly, due to some of the rules of this website it was shut down. Long story but jsp mods take their "jobs" very seriously. This one will of course be within the rules and I'll confirm before it starts.
The reason I'm saying this is because I have another idea for a network and wanted to know if it's worth the time to try and organize it. Will I have enough players? Will the rule set be followed? Will the community be non-toxic? Hopefully yes, yes, and yes.
*This will be played on patch 1.13*
My idea is:
1. To have a single player / tcp/ip network for players to progress and play through together. I know many of you prefer single player, and if that's the case, then tcp/ip could be used solely for trading.
2. /players 16 or 24 (I haven't decided yet) at all times. I have the edited d2 file to allow up to /players 64. This is NOT a hack or cheat. I opened the d2 file and edited it my self. The same concept as allowing ladder runewords on single player. Again to reiterate: this is not a mod.
3. .08 and .09 items enabled (uniques, set, rares, crafts, runewords etc.)
4. Competitions and tournaments to be established with various prizes including legacy items. (Farmathon, pvp, ladder races, etc.)
5. Discord channel to be able to see who's online and available to play.
TLDR:
Patch 1.13
/players 16 or 24 (extra hard but not impossible like 64) at all times
Pre-patch items enabled
Events
Single player/ tcp/ip (play offline when alone or join/create a game when others are playing)
Looking forward to hearing feedback regarding this event and I'm open for suggestions/comments/concerns. Let's get this going!
