After several months, I've decided to reinstall Diablo 2 after my old laptop died, taking my game files with it. I just lost heart although I still come to the forums and check out the threads.

Given my love of grindy characters (Magic Arrow only Zon? yup. Dagger only barb? yup.), I'm thinking of doing one last grindy grindy OMG why build. So I'm looking for opinions on (1) is this possible without mass LL to start and (2) how long do y'all think this character would last (could I get to the point of having mass LL [it would need a minimum of 24% in Hell]).

Do it. I myself was planning to make a martyr for my next build. Getting lifetap will be key for surviving hell mode.

Someone actually just tried a sacrifice paladin like a month ago.. And died, not sure who or exactly when but it should be on this forum somewhere

Dont have the slightest clue.. But if i remember correctly he didn't make it out of normal before dying and havent heard anything about a sacrifice paladin since then

I can see it being impossibly slow, which is why I'm curious to see how far I could take one before being overcome with boredom or dying in the game.

Don't see why it wouldn't be possible! Total of 1200%+ enhanced damage, 300%+ attack rating, 35%+ IAS between main attack + aura. Life loss offset by Leech/Potions, not to mention maxed Redemption! Not uninterruptible but the 2-frame block from HS helps a lot with that. I don't think it'd be too much slower than a conc barb, although less safe.

My concern is surviving norm to be honest. But I'm doing more than 120 damage at level 17 with a one handed weapon. Getting up 8% LL early game will be difficult. I'll be relying on skulls in helms, prayer merc, my own prayer skill, and lots of red pot.

Haha yeah, you should be fine even just with the red pots tbh! Just chug em non stop XD
