which build would you recommend?

can u give me some tips/items for midgame like late nm and early hell?

Frenzy and zerk are the popular builds

Assuming you play vanilla (no ladder runewords)

Butchers pupils —-> upgraded butchers pupils is the easiest progression for frenZy mid to late game

Ribcracker to upgraded ribcracker probably the easiest progression for berserk if you are comfortable with 2h, if not just go for butchers again

Either way get yourself a guillaume face helm as well.. with that helm and those weapons your damage will be good enough and the rest of your gear can focus on survival pretty much

If you don’t mind the grind, you can also find Gore Rider war boots from nm Meph. This will give you some nice crushing blow and deadly strike to complement your Guillaume’s and Butcher’s Pupil/Headstriker deadly strike. Nm Meph will also drop String of Ears demonhide sash which will give you 15% damage reduction and 8% life leech if you get a good roll. Haven’t played a barb before, so please correct me if there is alternate gear that is superior at this stage. You can easily craft some blood gloves for life leech, crushing blow, +life, and ias (10-20%).

Nightmare Meph is gonna be your main farming spot for items that'll help you through hell.

Of particular importance for a melee build is Raven Frost ring - Meph's odds aren't too bad for those!
