Hi everyone,

I want to try an assassin using traps. Hopefully this is a viable build for p8 hcore. Please give me some advice on build choices and gear.

Rules:

Hardcore mode
Players set to 8 except when running Countess for runes
Single Player
Normal stash
Ladder runewords enabled

Goals:

Get to Hell at least

gl bro im on this same grind. trapper is very fun. my tip is to abuse mind blast once u get to hell. between converting monsters and having your merc/shadow taking aggro you can do shit pretty safely.

p8 hell is hard af on trapper btw. at least it is if you rush to it like i did.

If u happen to find an um, you can make a crecent moon in a phase blade to use kicks (dragon talon), to proc static field, very useful in p8 to have better killing speed.

Or an stormlash or so, ofc.

Is p8 hell hard on trapper because traps dont do much damage in Hell?

im new to p8 walkthroughs this is actually my frist one. damage is alright, like i said i rushed to hell so didnt have much in the way of gear. killing speed is fine but its hard because of immunes, and ofc even though killing speed is fine its still slow compared to p1 fully geared like im used to on bnet lol. if you're used to p8 single player im sure the killing speed will be more than fine.

another tip is when u get to nm i believe a4 is when you can first find it (not sure) but you can shop a lower res wand. this helps A LOT for boss speed. i even use it on some unique/champ packs in hell to make it faster. def worth the time and gold to shop one of these.

Thanks for the tips. I sometimes use a life tap wand on bosses to keep merc alive since hes the unlimited mana machine but I like your idea.
