Hi there

Age old cliche question for you guys. I have done a lot of searching and am still kind of undecided. I have a lvl 96 WW barb that struggles with killing and sometimes even gets close to death. I am playing west ladder, not single player just for reference.

Right now I am using azurewrath and ebotd cb. This is probably my biggest problem here. Some people have recommended grief + grief, some grief + beast, and some grief + phoenix. Not really sure I should use a phoenix, as I am sure dual weps for the WW are a better choice.

I am heavily leaning towards grief + beast. What are your thoughts? Here are my skills and stats

Eth arreats with zod
highlord wrath
enigma in archon plate
manald heal
raven frost
Noferatu coil
10% draculs
gore rider
azure wrath
ebotd cb
19/19 barb torch
no anni
like 1/2 barb combat skillers
and a +15 res all gc (which i can ditch)

2 double isted ali baba's for item find on switch.

Max howl, max shout
Few pt's into item find
Max sword mastery, 1 into natural res and iron skin
max ww
like 15 pts into berserk
1 into concentration and pre req skills etc

Any opinions welcome. This is a none PVP barb and only PVM. Also if I go with beast, what would be a good base to choose seeing as I use sword mastery?

Age old questions, I know, but every thread I come across is a whirlwind of answers and not much cohesive discussion that actually gets anywhere, mostly just people with raging ego issues that can't back down.

Any input appreciated thanks.

edit: also looking for recommendations on merc layout. Current merc has:

- insight (for mana regen)
- trechery
- andy visage with ral

I have been debating string of ears and bramble, good to see it recommended. Same with guilli, I like arreats look but seems guilli offers more benefit.

Sounds like beast is out. Aiming for dual grief PB now thanks. Also what do you recommend for merc layout?

if you use find item you probably don't want freeze aura, so might aura
reaper's toll, guilli, treachery or forty

I am also wondering if item find is even worth it. In the time to loot bodies, could be killing more mobs, so wondering if item find is even useful on a WW barb. Thoughts?

It's more useful on champ/boss packs imo.

Definitely make these changes.

Also, only use item find on champion packs. Don’t waste time horking trash mobs.

Problem is you do very low dmg that means very low surviability via leeching

Thank you both! Focusing on champion packs now. Also buying this gear as we speak. Found an eth reaper for my merc, got treach, just need guill's for myself and merc. Found bramble, and working on second grief (just need base)

Really hoping this boosts my output. My only concern is mana leech/regen and also health leech (going to mostly be in p8 games for good loots so im a little worried about that)





Thankfully we have a bo bard on the team so I have no need to worry about speccing into BO or CTA boost. Seems I am better off replacing my manald heal with maybe a wisp?

You can fill your belt with rejuvs and mana pots after you get proper health managment via items listed
Dual wizzy or dual hotos helps shitloads with teleporting. Mana really should not be any bit of problem
