It's most useful with javazons, merge cs with throw and you get perma far cast.
It's also usable on casters, you can have your spell use the animation of a fast attack. For example you can cast blessed hammer, which normally takes 9 or 10 frames (with 75 or 125fcr), with the 6frame smite animation. There are problems with this tho:
1) you can get frozen which makes you cast slower
2) you can't alternate between skills like charge/hammer, or use your swap, because you need to redo the merge every time
3) you do need both enough attack speed to reach 6fpa AND enough fcr so that your action frame is at most 6fpa. If you don't have enough fcr, when you spam smite, no hammers get cast. For example, you can use spirit pb and get 65ias for 6fpa, and then you need 86fcr (

You can also try to use it with teleport+smite for 6fpa teleport, the problem is, attacks automatically target close enemies, so if you ever have an enemy close to you, then you'll teleport on them and not where you clicked, so it's not very useful
E: also you don't see your spells, so if you're not used to stuff like hammer trajectory it can be hard to aim
E2: you can also go the other way around, make a 105fcr botdwp zerk barb and attack in 8frames instead of 13 or 14
