I was thinking of a challenge years ago for a no merc frost nova sorcs only competition to see how far someone could get on HC pl8.

firewall is a good option for NM and hell tho, i doubt frost nova even with lvl 30 can keep up with regen in hell after res.

Awesome beginning staff...
You could try to cube it and make a leaf. the warmth and cold res bonus would be helpful. Not to mention your secondary fire skill.

Then again it would require an amn rune, which is valuable for spirit.
