Introduction:
This Challenge is made for Diablo II Lord of Destruction.
For players looking to improve their skills or for players who search for new experience playing this classic game.


What is the Rite of Passage Challenge?
During this challenge you will be creating a new Barbarian class character and playing in either Softcore or Hardcore depending how hard of a difficult you wish to have.
You will be playing from Normal mode all the way through Hell mode testing your Diablo II knowledge and skill at every corner of the game.

How do I get started?
This challenge can be played either offline or online.

1. Start by making a creating new character!
2. This Challenge is a Barbarian class only playthrough
3. Pick a name: Try to keep it lore related!
4. When you start the game type /Time for a timestamp then screenshot!
5. Begin the playtrough following the rules listed below.
6. After you complete the game by killing Hell Baal type /Time again and save the screenshot
7. Post the Screenshots in this topic and lets see how many hours or days it took you!
8. After you complete this challenge your d2jsp name, char name, level, and time will be posted on the Arreat Summit guild page Here!
9. Reward time! for finishing this challenge we will be giving you 10.00fg for playing along. This is so we can payout/match the number of players interested!
10. You can run this challenge as many time as you'd like! Payment cap is 5 time (50.00fg)

Notes:
You can play in a party of up to 8 players but will not be granted fg unless you play solo.

If you play in hardcore and survive until the end you will be payed 20.00fg instead with a payment cap of 100.00fg

Gameplay Rules:
1. You must make a NEW Barbarian for this Challenge!
2. You are not allowed to play in public games, go on runs, etc, this is a 1 time playthrough.
3. You must complete every Quest
4. You must collect every Way Point in each act
5. You are not allowed to buy/repair/heal from any of the vendors from any town unless it is quest related. (You must find own loot, including potions, ID scroll, etc)
6. You are not allowed to use a town portal unless it is quest related. (No portal shrines)
7. You are allowed to use identification from Cain.
8. You are not allowed to trade items ingame or on d2jsp. (Including muling items over)
9. You are not allowed to use Gheeds, Torch or Anni.
10. You are allowed to buy a merc, and resurrect them if they die. However you must convert to a Barbarian merc when you complete the Act V quest and ONLY use that merc for the remaining of the playthrough.
11. Rogue, Town Guard, and Iron Wolf merc is not allowed in Nightmare or Hell mode.
12. You are allowed to redo your stats/skills after defeating Baal, but this is not to be used as an excuse to heal at a healer.
13. Restat/skill Tokens are not allowed.
14. No Runes or Runewords can be used.
15. You may only have 1 item of a set equiped at a time. (Example: You cannot have Immortal Kings Helmet and Gloves on at same time)
16. You can use Jewels and Gems.
17. You cannot craft or use cube Transmuting aside from Act 2 quests. (Example: you cannot combine gems, potions,etc)
18. Charms are allowed but no poison damage effects.
19. Gear must not have poison damage effect otherwise you or merc cannot equip it.
20. Other element damage effects such as lightning, fire, cold is allowed on charms and equipment.
21. Magic Find items are allowed.
22. You must Timestamp and Screenshot upon starting/ending so time can be tracked.
23. If you have a stream or video replay be sure to post it upon finishing or losing the challenge.
24. If you give up you must post a /Time screenshot showing us your attempt (provide level and location if you can)

Extra Hardcore Gameplay Rules:
1. If you die you must post a screenshot showing us your attempt and dead body (provide level, time, and location if you can)
2. If you die, let others loot your corpse before you leave the game.
3. If Hardcore is started played in a Party Extra rules must be followed even if you are the only player remaining or playing.
4. Merc cannot be resurrect if killed in Hardcore mode you must buy a new one. Provide a sreenshot of your fallen comrade.
5. Gear cannot be taken from Merc before buying a New one. They only get one life just like you! So gear them well!

Extra Party Gameplay Rules:
1. All players in the group must be new players. No higher level players can join.
2. No rushing of any sort is allowed, as all quests and waypoints must be complete and gathered.
3. It is suggested that if you don't need anything in your inventory, drop it in in town during your town visits for others. Since you will not be allowed to trade or buy item sold to or sold at vendors.

Starting Attributes:
Strength: 30
Dexterity: 20
Vitality: 25
Energy: 10

Hit Points: 55
Stamina: 92
Mana: 10

Each Character Level:
Life +2
Stamina +1
Mana +1


Attribute Point Effect:
1 Vitality point gives 4 Life
1 Vitality point gives 1 Stamina
1 Energy point gives 1 Mana

Yea anyone who wants to try.

Some rules are funny, like getting an unique every superunique in order to progress or so, and some rules aren't funny at all..

So no reruns and not being allowed to repair equipment at vendors
Also not allowed to use cube aka repairing eq in cube

So once durability is down youre done
Fun

U could find another weapon. I mean when a cave man breaks his stick, did he just tape it back together or did he find a bigger stick?

And maybe the 10fg is because he figured more people would try I assume?

I agree there is some ridiculous rules in this 1. But people like godlymod and couple other people that has specific rules for their walk thru might jump on this 1.

Yeah cant wait to be lucky enough finding a weapon thats not absolute garbage in a single pass walk without reruns
Just so I could throw it to Charsi and replace it with magic Club once it gets broken
Even with allowed repairs and heals at vendors this shit would be hard as fuck with singlepass
Unless if you play on /players 1

Then dont even bother taking ss and posting cos literally no1 here gives a fuck about p1 softcore play on battlenet lol

I've never tried a single pass so I wouldn't know that part.
But I agree it would be super hard to finish this with any melee char. It Would be a full act 5 merc walk thru with no runes or runes words, lol.

cool idea, but this is way too easily cheatable on b.net. how will you know that they didn't get norm rushed for instance, and went back to leveled up doing trist/tomb runs etc? should have this done on single player with just stating the date and time starting and finishing



if you're stating /time, it's b.net which means no /playersx command. so it's players1 unless you're playing in a party
