In some cases you will not be able to break fire immunities, since conviction aura and lower resist have 1/5 effectiveness against immunes.
Quick example:
Infinity aura gives -85res, lvl 2 lower resist wand gives -37res
That will be -122res
Agains immunes divided by 5
That will be -24res
This means monsters wit 124res or higher will remain immune.
Venom Lords for example have 130 fire res.
Doom Knights have 110 fire res in Act 4, but in Act 5 (as guest monters) they have 130 fire res.
after doing alot of reading on this, ill link thread at the end of this incase anyone else is interested, it was a good read. anyways after reading it and understanding a majority of it, my only question is why are conviction and Lower resist curse the only way to break immunes is it 1 because they lower soooo much resist, or is literally the way the game was designed to only allow those 2 abilities to break immunes. That being said and if true, there is literally no way of breaking all fire immunes(Destro minions) unless you got a pally running a lvl 25 or higher conviction and a necro running like a 50+ lower res curse. Who wants to make those 2 characters for me so i can play fire only

because if the immune isnt broken even wearing 10 5/5 facets -50 fire res does nothing, unless its broken first by those 2 things feels bad
