Easiest way is double swing through norm and switch to singer for the rest of the game. You can use triple tal weps and that will get through norm np. Alternatively, you can do leap attack instead of double swing, works pretty well. You will have trouble with wave 2 baal minions but you can just get 1 pt ww and use black or do the skip glitch. If you want to melee through the entire game its probably best to double swing norm and then switch to berserk, insight will get through nm easily and use obedience for hell. Alternatively, you can just make black and melee all the way through with that, runewords like oath or lawbringer will make it much easier. If you don't like runewords you can just save all your gems and cube for cruel mod and beat the game that way. You can also farm out uniques and do WW but i dont recommend it. p1 is not bad at all any of those ways, p8 will be very slow but thats the barb life.
