Currently playing SSF FOH pally (p8) on Lod

Currently in act5 nm and he feels weak af

Has anyone tried wt with pure foh? Can he even kill in hell (without relying on merc)?

Im tempted to just respec to hammerdin and obliterate stuff lol

A5 has a lot of non undead/demons, which might be why it sucks?

I've done p8 pit runs online with a dual spirit foh and it clear decent. Not sure about progression though....hammer definitely better to beat game

Keep in mind .. on Lod, holy bolt ONLY damages undead

I can see it working if i was decked out but yea... with poverty gear its pretty weak. Merc gets rekt fast going to Throne cuz i dont kill fast enough.

Well and is it fun? One single target spell after another, may as well play a zerk barb or something and be able to hork at least.

Its kinda fun sniping stuff but not fun for big groups (obviously). Too much clicking involved and my finger start to cramp up.

I think if it didnt have cast delay, would probably be much better

foh is pretty shitty pvm and mildly interesting pvp

i used to use a pure pvp foh with the highest damage possible including a 3 foh 3 conviction 5 facet wep and it did do massive damage to players who had bad gear. if players have higher quality gear then it takes 4-5 hits, if they have any level of sorb it fails. foh is great for nking players or if they swap from a safety elemental setup to a dr setup then they will take damage. for pvm you have no crowd control, you can selectively target boss or champ monsters but its just a failure pvm. i would not consider foh a pvm useable skill.

the skill is not totally useless, i like to put a foh stick + hoz on swap on my pure smiter, with + skills i still do around 3k foh so its good to harass players off screen or mages to get them to telestomp you. if players that have 1% life left attempt to flee to town then foh on swap stops them cold. i typically have some sort of hybridization of my builds where an item or single skill point in a skill will offset my main damage for pking. if you had a hammerdin then you can use foh + hoz on swap for off screen damage, another method is using a death rw eth zerker + phoenix and charge with fanta to charge down low defense casters.
