Do you think it’s worth making the poppables part of my route or are chests better? I find it hard to resist popping them all but RARELY get anything worth picking up.
I think it took me about 3.5k runs to get my enigma... so if you are at 1k runs and have only a ber to go... you are on track if not ahead of the game (typically I believe its around 1k runs per ber, 800 per sur). Are you playing on players 7?
Pop-ables depends on how fast you are doing your runs... I forgot what the time is, but if it adds a few seconds to your run then its totally worth hitting all pop-ables... if its adding like 10 seconds to a 30 second run... its probably not worth it. Sorry thats not the best answer...

It's worth it, or it isn't. It's luck. It's up to you. I nevet opened them really, and I did just fine. My friend popped alot around the huts, he found all his hrs outside from superchest
I have also found HRs off of pop-ables. I believe the last HR I found on this character (in LK) was a Lo from a pop-able.
