The concept of cheating does not abide by or find any more or less relevance when done in a multiplayer game or single player game. The concept remains the same and when associated with a public forum like d2jsp, hurts the community that the individual is a contributor to.
That being said, Retro has been a very positive contributor to this sub-forum and, if it wasn't already clear, Retro has a lot of people that found enjoyment in following his walks and who have, myself included, expressed interest in him remaining here.
what? of course it is a difference whether you betray people in a multiplayer game or you cheat solo. You do not hurt anybody but yourself in solo, since you destroy your own gaming experience. In multiplayer games you destroy the fun of everyone else.
