Yeah I'm having trouble downgrading to 1.13

Yeah doesn't work when I download the compressed folder, unzip it and run the installers it doesn't let me install again but apparently you don't need to do that anymore anyway.

Then when I download d2se and try to run it it gets a critical error lol

I tried to use d2se at first too because I had an old version of 1.14d on my pc with all my old sp characters and I didn’t want to mess with it, but d2se wasn’t working for me so I deleted it and tried a different approach.

so I think in order to have a separate copy of d2 for 1.13d, I first renamed the original d2 folder and changed it from “Diablo II” to “Diablo 2” and then I believe I had to simply create a new folder for the 1.13d named “Diablo II” and simply copy pasted the mpq and save files from the 14 folder to the 13 folder. Then have the plugy files and the 13 patch files in the 13 folder.

I’m a little hazy on the finer details but basically my end result was having two separate D2 games on my pc. A 1.14d that only has HC classic chars on it now, and the 1.13d plugy which I moved all my LOD characters over to. You should be able to have both easily. I just wish I remembered a little better exactly how I did it

The video shows a site where you dl 1.12, then update to 1.13c so I can use it. Gotta have d2se and plugy in diablo directory. Pretty easy

It will not be a dual install, you will play plugy through d2se or the actual game u can update to current for bnet

Yeah tried both of those ways neither worked, I've had plugy and d2se both before on multiple pcs idk what the problem is now. I'll try one more time but I don't think it will be any different

Literally did the same thing and now it's working lol. I did this at least 5 times in 2 months and it never worked unless I screwed up one little thing each time idk. Plugy comes with ladder rws right?

I did want this thread to be semi inspirational but I figured any inspiration was now long lost in my tendency for typing up overly verbose analyses and breakdowns.
