As soon as we smashed through this once holy portcullis, a rush of demons encircled us. All are now but a pile of vile gore.

Abhaya's wrath fell upon the hoarde as I studied this fresco. It foretells the moment of a great battle, where evil and good will meet in equal strength. There is no victory in this war; only suffering for those who thought themselves kings.

A great bone mage defended this defiled shrine, shrieks chilled me to my spine as he collapsed into a pile of dust.

The way down from here is ominous. Old death lives down in these coming tombs.

These tombs descend further than expected; we will have to rest soon. Perhaps we will chance upon another of the infernal gateways which permeate this land. My constitution is still strong; but I have begun to worry for Abhaya. Her bloodlust is taking a toll on her; the meat on her bones is wearing thin. I can see her muscles wracked with pain even as she attempts to conceal it.

A worthy plunder, there must have been many warriors that ended their days here. I will keep these on my person as reverence for a while, but I prefer the gloves made of animal skins on my hands for now. They allow me to better grasp this heavy blade.

A strange twist of fate; it appears the great warrior that once wore my cap had a double. Perhaps they were blood brothers, twins, or sworn to some sorcery.

I saw it only fitting to offer this matching mantle to Abhaya. As I placed it on her flowing locks, for the first time that I can recall, she let her eyes meet mine as an equal. It was a fleeting moment, she quickly looked away the way a deer might when frightened.

There was a way down further still, but we must rest. The old man I set free in Tristram keeps babbling on about some great demon witch or some such. I have no time for his rantings.

The old stone coffins in the halls we passed yielded some powerful stones. I can feel a renewed energy radiating from them; just as I can still hear the snapping of the old bones that I pried to retrieve them. May the dead forgive my transgressions.

Abhaya, still seems pensive, but I think these nights by the water give her some peace yet.

I do not know what secrets these stones may hold. Still, they seem ancient and undying.
