I posted a thread asking about 200% ed weapons from Andy in the classic section and someone said it was not possible. Even though I thought it should be able to, since the highest mod I’d need is a lvl 56 and Hell Andy in classic is mlvl 62... so I felt that it should be possible? But I guess I must not be understanding something about the way drops work. So yeah, I may do Flayer until xp drops off and then Meph with low MF until I can get some more.



Thanks man looking at starting flayer runs this evening. Will probably try and do 1-2 hours if MFing per day at this point, at least most days.



Not sure, maybe you could try Seems like it would be definitely doable on ww barb - once you hit 30 you simply dominate and can definitely beat hell with shopped magical weapon and rare gambled gear. I wasn’t in this for the challenge though, I just wanted a high level classic barb I could farm for gear with. I want to farm a godly rare setup and then go for clvl 90+ in chaos runs. Ideally looking for an insane tri-dura ancient axe so I only have to repair once at the start of every run.. and then your typical high def/life/res rare gear and dual leech ring, +2/priz ammy



Yeah, I like sword but I did that last time with Dario. He went red to blue to black back to blue But I love AA barbs too. My inspiration for this one was seeing a classic barb in a useast chat channel on bnet who wore a golden brown ornate, winged helm, and AA. It looked so amazing haha and better than exe imo.

I did something similar a while back and I think 200% can drop from Andy. Could be wrong though, I'll look back at what people said about it. Cool lookin barb wt

Yep, after a little more research I found out that you need ilvl 78 to spawn King's prefix, which means I need area level 75+ bosspacks. That means the only places I could find a 181%+ ed weapon would be:

Durance of Hate Level 1 boss packs
Durance of Hate Level 2 boss packs
Durance of Hate Level 3 boss packs but not meph

^ not going to run those areas as ww barb though due to stygian dolls

Outer Steppes boss packs
Plains of Despair boss packs
City of the Damned boss packs
River of Flame boss packs
Chaos Sanctuary any monster in hell CS could drop it

So far I have just been running Stormtree, taking LK wp close to the gate and heading down. Went from 82-84 this way. But now I'm considering trying out Outer Steppes or City of the Damned runs just to have a shot at top ed weapons. Also considering just doing Meph runs. Outer Steppes and City of the Damned don't need to have good maps, so I'll likely just re-roll a good Meph map and then start doing Meph/some a4 area runs. At level 84 and running at least 50%+ mf pretty much the whole WT, I have still yet to see a rare Ancient Axe drop. I've only had the 3 that I imbued :/ Two rare lances and one rare martel, that's it. Although it would be kind of lame, I am thinking that if I were to find an A-tier or S-iter weapon of any type, I'd likely just swap to that mastery type. It's tough finding a good weapon in classic, so if I were to find say a Lance or Executioner or Martel with 190+ed and base life leech or something, I think I'd just swap. At least that way I could run Chaos Sanctuary and have a better shot at finding a high ed Ancient Axe in the long run! I wouldn't go for a lance without triple durability though... 25 durability on classic ww is just plain NO for pvm.

After all that, I've just said screw it and am taking my chances with slow and steady Chaos runs. 16%life leech 3% mana leech 89% mf. I get the most enjoyment from running the highest possible area even if it's slower. So here I go to the end-game! Have to ctach up on screenshots soon. Takes 30+ mins per chaos run and I have to repair 7-8 times per run.

you still can find 160 +20 max from andy, so if you can clear it fast go for it imo

So really not much as happened at all, but I wanted to post a few screenshots just to show where I'm at.

I planned on doing Meph runs but I didn't have a good setup for meph, so I decided to start at andy to build up my standard uniques like gwrap/chancies/soj

Rolled this map which was insane...


With level 3-->4 just as good, this is pretty much the best Andy map I could ask for in classic.


Found Angelic ring pretty much right away so I finally have the combo. Still not using it though. Angelic ring/ammy will be for final/all rares setup. Using Sig trio for 50% mf + 10% leech during the MFing stage, so I get tons of AR from sig helm and don't need angelic's atm. May use Angelics + uniques MF setup on act bosses like Meph runs though. Sig combo is better for area runs.

Chancies pretty quick also


Nice ones too - 1% mf from totally perfect. I can swap out Sigon's gloves for these, then use Sig belt. I'd still much rather find Goldwrap and use that in place of Sig belt with sig gloves instead of Chancies. It's 9% less MF, but it gives 40% IAS for zerk vs pi


Well I just didn't like the idea of running Andy to be honest since she can't drop any really great stuff except soj - although in hindsight I wish I had kept that godly map until I found Gwrap. I rerolled a map to have LK wp close to Stormtree and ran him a few hundred times.

Ideally my final armor will be an Ornate plate with something like 80%+ed/50+ life with two 20+ resistances


Does Stormtree have a relatively higher chance of dropping rings or something? Probably just rng, but I've noticed a TON of rare rings dropping off him.


Wow... Iso LL or ML on that. Still also haven't gambled a good ring yet, only spent about 10mil gold so far though.

Almost neat. Wouldn't normally post something like this but I've just really found nothing worth noting so I have to settle for posting these fails.
