If you really need it, you can
quadruple your chances of adding
Socketed (3) to Flail/Knout/Scourge, from 1:6 to 4:6, by first restoring a low (Cracked/Crude/Damaged/Low Quality) one to normal quality using
Horadric Cube, thus degrading Item Level to 1.
Then add sockets to the resulting normal quality weapon.
