My first two HRs Ohm and Vex was p3, Ber was also p3.
After I read an article on diablo2ii I started running LK at p3.
I got the impression that every time I roll a new map I find runes in the first runs, than runes start to fall rarely.
So I started to mix player settings to 8, 5 or 3, but mostly 3. Also started rerolling maps every once in a while.

Can't find that pattern on any player setting.
The article you read is old, specific rune patterns arent confined to specific player settings anymore. P7/8 has patterns for all runes up to Ber.

I'm not sure how patterns work, so I'm not looking up on that.
I saw that you're refering to the second Vex I found - i don't know player settings on that one.
Even if the article's old I' d still ruk Lk at p3, because I can miss a hr with all the gold, arrows and other junk dropping.
I take bad hits while picking up gold to clear my screen at p8..

Hold alt when the stash is being opened, it will cycle through the entire drop and you just look for orange. This + Teleport/Run NE of the drop to reveal further without picking up things.

E; p7/8 is the best setting now statistically and running on p3 is neglecting your ruleset which is just distasteful overall.

I don't understand why people make rules if they just break them later...

There's no way you could know that for sure, though.

It's hard to judge rune drops not on p7/p8 since they aren't really mapped out too hard.

Which is exactly why I didn't accuse him of anything, I just asked if he knew what player setting the drop was on.
