Enemy defence reduction starts at 50% (!!) and goes up 2%/level
Enemy damage reduction starts at 25% and goes up 1%/level.

50% at level one. Wow. That is huge! and damned good duration too. Relatively small radius of course, and I'm pretty sure the diuration is either nerfed on a Hell basis or Boss/Unique basis.

However, I can't remember reading anywhere that the effects are nerfed at all.

I can give this a try as stated above. I just got kinda bored with this character. It kills really really slowly, has leech problems so I am constantly drinking pots. Its now in act2 which is my "favorite" act to be in. Its kinda ruff for me to play this guy. I took a break from him last night and MFed a little with FOhydra. The last run of the night produced an unique ring from hell andy and the rougue corpse next to the door on cats 4 produced a rune. I had to double take the screen to make sure I was seeing the rune correctly, I even asked the wife, who was waiting to use the pc, what the rune was. She said " it looks like IST. Those are kinda rare aren't they?" After I picked my jaw up off floor and thanked the dead rogue, i went to town thinking, " if this ring turns out to be an SoJ, I will to backflips down the stairs!"

Now I can make my second legit delirium for my strafer. She was donated a WF a while ago and was parked. Now that I can make my delirium, I can tackle the throne room, do Baal, and put her on permanent Chaos duty.

You're never going to do enough damage to make this a remotely easy venture. Tough enough with elemental zealots and there you get at least the bonuses from Conviction.

Another possible thing to try would be a different merc. Either a Lawbringer Barb or HF merc with suitable polearm to slow monsters either kelpie or decrep.

Just a thought of course.

So, just to show that the D2 Gods smile in Europe too, I picked up one of the best small charms I've ever found whilst questing through Early A5 NM with my Singer (Turning GF barb) last night: 5@/12 life Nice I thought. Actually my first ever 5@ small charm I think.

If you were on east, I could loan you the 4 or 5 5@res charms I have. Then again, I have that monster GC at 14@res.

Either way, I have played so many Frenzy barbs and the character before this one was the mele Abbot. I think I am in a mele funk right now. I have more fun MFin around and whatnot as opposed to hearing the swish swish of the wands through the air.

My issue is I cannot think of a wierd caster character to play. I mean sure, there is always a fire druid, but I hate druids with a passion. None of the druids I make am I ever happy with. My wife started a trapsin, but how out of the ordinary is that? Tri-elementalist you say? I have full tals as it is. Naw, that seems to logical. Hmm..... I guess I hope to eliminate this mele funk I am in and get this guy finished.

And for that caster/melee thing, you should make a meleesorc next time. Get the best (well, actually worst, but whatever) out both of them! Immortal Queen sorcs are very cheap, but a Sorcavenger might be much more effective. Ofcourse a Dual Dream sorc will destroy everything, but you'll never find the runes for one of those. Maybe a gimmershred sorc would even work..

What is passion's rune cost again? Lem the highest? I know it would be a pipe dream to find a +3 zeal scepter to make it in. I also know the skills would be rather lacking so I might just be dealing with a slvl3 zeal if I stick Harly on my head. I would imagine though that I would focus on survivability and killing power second. I would probably want to wear my guilemme's hat as opposed to Harley. The only other + skills would be from armor as Mosers would be shield of choice. Even at that, the armor would probably be something like Silks, or Viper, or something like that. Huh, I dont think that without CoH, this sorc would be viable.

About the sorc equipment, depends on what you want - you definetely don't need CoH on a Dual Dream sorc. And that Caddy shouldn't be your choice of preference either, it's too slow. A pb will hit the final breakpoint with only 40 extra ias, and the Caddy needs a massive IAS increase (I checked it on a speed calc). So a pb beats a 3zeal Caddy by a longshot - though a 3zeal Caddy would be stylish. Dual Dream sorc would go ES/TK probably, so no need for the CoH. And the Dual Dreams take up your helm end shield slot. Rather a Treachery (has better resistance than CoH, and it has ias instead of +skills) . The really expensive parts of a Dual Dream sorc are the lightning grand charms and the dual dreams. +skills would come from amulet, ring, anni and such (no need for angelic equipment, it cripples the sorc too much). Getting zeal above level 4 is not going to help you very much, so there's no problem using a phaseblade.

Currently my sorcavenger is parked with Gimmershred and that shield that has a (crap) chance to cast lower resist when struck. Not really doing so well, I'm still awaiting the Gul for the Kingslayer. I'm definetely going for Treachery, since I can use the IAS/resistance/fhr.
