Why not make a locked thread if that's possible, where only one guy has the authority to post trophies, and then people just send their finds and let that one person sort it out? If someone was willing to do that, it would save people some public heartbreak I guess? :)

edit: Just wanted to point out, this is a great suggestion - even if I made it sound like it can't or won't happen - it definitely could. However, either way, it's a great suggestion :)

You would have to have a staff member do to that. That staff member would also have to not mind 1-40 extra pm's per day and be relatively aware of what a SP trophy looks like.
If I go back onto the staff team again, I'd be open to doing it that way. However, for now, this seems like the only way.

In the least sassy way possible, I wish we could just be like:
"Why not have everyone get over the ego's and over-entitled opinions? If people don't believe it's a trophy, don't give it attention; the user will learn. If it is a trophy, respond positively; encouragement."

Ah well :P If people decide to continue to conduct themselves in a ridiculous manner in here, we'll just lose this thread/sticky :(

The bold part would help us cut 50 pages already
But oh well, let people have a go at it I guess :)

Same argument could be made if users could just accept the criticism on the item that they post instead of arguing every little detail, if someone does something wrong and it's not brought to light they will never learn, the people giving criticism and opinions are not the only ones to blame for where this thread has gone, there's been a number of items posted here that weren't even screen shot worthy, over entitled opinion or not it's the truth.

Can the sticky be restructured to only allow a post to begin with a projected trophy and a corresponding questionaire/poll? ie, Down votes, up votes, and maybe a "close but no cigar" votes? Then put the trophy with the most up votes near the top. low vote items will move to the bottom and be forgotten.

The other idea would be to have a post start with a screenshot and then have a thread associated with it. Then people looking at various trophies wouldn't be have to wade through so much nonsense.

Except this is the internet and that will never happen

Also, I dont think a mod would be the best person to actually run the thread, no offense to you guys but you tend to be alot nicer than you should be simply because your mods and want to be respected, thus letting in items that probably shouldnt be there

I would host a poll with a few users that would agree to run the thread and then have the community vote as to who they want it to be

Either only give them the control to post in it or have them send you the ones they feel worthy and you can add them in

What if the Singleplayer trophy room had two subtopics. The first where users post a thread with their item and a poll where everyone decides whether it's a trophy or not. And the second where people post their pictures of items being voted "Yes, it's a trophy".

Since what everyone wants to see is a small pool of items with high rolls, why not just make a list of items that qualify as a trophy? There's only 10 item slots, it would be a pretty short list.

This thread is fine. It's no different than any trophy thread on any other subforum on this site.

It's just ridiculous to want to silence any negative criticism. Who uphold's the integrity of the items posted here?
Any asshole who has played single player for 80 hours and feels entitled that their best item must be a trophy?

No. The community decides what is a trophy.

If you want this trophy topic to be like you want, then call it like it is: "Post your favorite D2 items from your recent single player WT" and move it to User Blog

It's like people are so used to encouragement in their WTs that they can't take any negative criticism. Reserve this post to actual trophies, not items that are "perfect for my situation and really good and to me a trophy lolz" and the thread would be fine.
The problem is only very few people have found SP trophies but everyone wants to join in on the fun -_-

Exactly. True trophies are supposed to be rare and difficult to obtain. There are so few in the PvM section cuz there are only a handful of dedicated PvM players.

You guys should check out some of the 64 pages of content here and perhaps go about things another way?

Most of us have played d2 over a decade and none of us have found anything close to a real trophy, on b.net they're all imports as well, the real thing is more rare than any of you are considering. Single player has to be toned down to something you might find with a thousand hours play time.

I totally agree with what you all think a trophy is, and it would be great if we could make this a room for that. But what you're all asking for is impossible.
