First off i have zero problems with someone "participating" in this event with a character that doesnt quite fit the rules if they dont take fg. Seeing your name on the leaderboard wont get me upset.

Second, IF you wish to participate for real perhaps consider GoMuling your borrowed items back to another char, and mfing some temp gear to farm with. Because you used gear that doesnt fit the rules this would still disqualify that character from fg prizes, but you might get less flack if there is no "un-legit" gear on her.

Bane violates the no muling rule with posts #13 (believed to have muled runeword SPIRIT) and #14(muled runeword INSIGHT) of the walkthrough. Later in the walkthough, the issue is brought up, discussed, and admitted.

Thanks, I think that would be fair indeed. I'll refrain from taking part though, I've played from roughly level 90 - or was it 91 or 92? - to 94 now with a Torch that was taken from another character, and the gear acquired by previous characters definitely helped me up until level 90 or so. What I might do is what you suggest, a sort of side participation where I just record the /p8 runs I do (I tend to run most stuff on /p1-5 except for baal runs on /p8) and drops I get there, post the drops because we all like seeing loot and just not get counted officially for the leaderboard.

Either way, this should be fun.

Strict violation of the rules of the tournament, but at this stage it's not like we're drowning in applications for the tournament and it's pretty clear from Bane's WT that he plays legitimately, not to mention his love for the game and good attitude. I sure can't blame him for wanting the early push given by Insight and Spirit, now sure how it is for Necromancers but I remember thinking the early game as a Sorceress was the exact opposite of my idea of having fun.

Imo it's not a giant issue of muling spirit & insight, but if you do it with those two items who would stop them from doing it with specifically charms and other items that don't give a lot, but drastically help?
I know I don't screenshot every charm drop I use, just like everyone else, but there's no real way to stop them. Imo should be DQ for muling no matter what.

And if you're a necromancer or sorceress and you mule a spirit cs then I think that's pretty pathetic. You can easily shop wands or staves.

Anyways, Sebhehe, my trap sin died at arcane sanctuary. So, you can take me out. Don't think I have enough time available to get to a farming point for a sorc to compete, but I sure will try.

E: Imo it doesn't matter if it's end game gear or starter gear that you transfer over from a different character; it's all the same foul in my eyes. Personally don't care if you do it in your walk-through, but if you are going to compete in this it's a clear DQ to me.
