Depending on your playstyle and objectives, I'd recommend it! It is extremely good padding against RNG (especially if you can Shael it). If you are just playing through the game once just to beat it, then you can easily be careful enough to go with Spirit. But if you plan on re-running a lot, or going for any type of item grail, I think SS is certainly warranted because we all know how we can enter a "D2 farming trance" and are not always playing our best. This is when we get smacked by the fanat archers which we could have easily avoided had we been fully aware and cautious. Or you can be as cautious as me and incorporate SS as defensive overkill regardless of playstyle. I'll use SS on pretty much every HC sorc, even if I can complete the game without losing more than a couple hundred life at a time without it haha... It just makes more sense to take steps to protect yourself against the rare event... why not?!

Short update today just to clear out some screenshots so I can go back to working on Calvin for a day or two

Calvin wants!!!!

New life/mana GC. Good but not great. Replaced a 29 life/29 mana GC with this.

47% again. Still keeping a pair on deck, but have pretty much given in to the fact that I'll need to use Treks, unless I can craft some sort of awesome fcr/mana/poison resist ring (which is also not a good solution in the long-run since sojs are ideal)

More elite set armors. I think I've found every single one except Tal's now? I figure I've almost found every single sought-after elite set item except for Tal's armor, IK armor, and Gris weapon.

Quite a sick roll actually. Perfect strength, high DR%, high +defense roll, above average defense % roll.

I would say I have found at least 20+ blue Lacquered Plates now. 2 or 3 yellow. Still waiting on the green.

Not a great roll this time. Hobbes found a perfect 70% resistances one though :P

Razortail

That's it this time... Like I said, it was a short one. I just wanted to clear our those screenshots so I could start fresh working on Calvin again for a couple days. Both are at farming stages at the moment pretty much, I'd just really like to secure a Bonesnap for Calvin ASAP. It will be a load off, because at that point I know he will be able to farm anywhere in NM. Right now he is still using a 'Malice' Maul, which is not great. I'd really like to have him set up to the point that once Hypatia is finished, he is fully ready to do some NM Meph/Chaos runs. For now, that means finding a Bonesnap.

I was planning on creating a new gameplay video when I've swapped mercenaries to the act 1 rogue with WF/Delirium, just because I think it would be more interesting and fun to watch. At this point the sorc plays like any other, pretty much... Hide behind act 2 holy freeze merc and cast skills. I think it will be cooler to watch with the Delirium Rogue merc, especially if I have been able to acquire some decent frw by then so that the playstyle can be a little different to your typical tele/spam sorc.

That being said, I'm sure I can conjure up a current playstyle video the next time I play with her (couple days from now). Just remember that the style should change a bit once the tank merc is removed.

Yep, I have 120fc and the habit to make quick runs.
Also because I havent allowed S/E I must have had at least 10-20 very close calls ( bad teleport - fhr lock - massive rejuv drink to get out) :p XD

Btw I just have d/l OBS to test it and still have to setup things with youtube, hope it will work for some vids :)

No s/e is a scary rule. I respect all the WTs I see with it, it's the hardest rule of all IMO. Regardless of any other rules you have in your WT, you can always be safe as long as you have s/e available and are moderately cautious about approaching unknown areas. I don't think I'm ready to remove the s/e option on a sorceress yet
