I hear that! I WISHed the highlords was a 30 Maras

Early last ladder I was running chaos with a buddy of mine. He grabbed Diablo's unique amulet drop before me Turned out to be a 30 maras. He was a sorc, me a pally. My first torch ended up a sTorch, and I finally got him to give me the maras for it.

It is one of the only items I can't bring myself to trade either. In fact, here is a gallery of the few items that keep me on b.net at this point

Almost perfect def, perfect roll. I was running chaos in a pub game when I noticed a sacred armor on the ground. Another guy picked it up but then dropped it!!!! I checked it out anyway, and proceeded to bug it, and roll this fort!

This self-found belt (right at entrance to chaos) made me want to make my first goldfind barb:



Since my GF barb is a singer/thrower(lacerator for PI) I really wanted fcr+GF on belt. I ended up trading for this:



However, I find it so VERY much less fulfilling to use items that are not self found / rolled that I haven't even used it much. This is the reason single player is so much more fun for me now.

I've done 8 player ubers with a grief and it's GODAWFUL slow. Crushing blow is easily the way to go and it's much cheaper/easier to get. You basically proc lifetap and fall asleep.

Heh, so the 42 seconds that the level 12 lifetap from marrowalks will not be enough...


I'm planning to use grief / duress / g'face / gores ( although goblin toe will have more cb, but this guy hasn't found any yet...). Perhaps exile & CB cloves instead of dracs. But I'm thinking dracs are easier to find @ meph that a good elite pally shield at this point. I'm hoping that armor rack drops something good one day soon.

Usually the difference between 50% (gface + gores) & 100% CB isn't a deal for survivability. But if BO wears off then that might be another matter... Exactly how long is long?

With dracs or exile and casting lifetap to start g'face and gores/goblin toe should be plenty with your grief. As long as you have good resists and some DR(string of ears maybe, normally i'd say shako/coa but you need the cb from gface) your lifetap keeps you alive infinitely. With decent CB it's maybe 2 minutes per boss. As long as lifetap is up, if BO wears off it's not a big deal.

I haven't found a string of ears with this character either. I was planning on using tgod vigor, but you bring up a very good point about DR.

... keeping options open. If I make exile then I can use a CB glove craft, duress, and goblin for 50 CB, and shako for DR. Otherwise I'll need SoE for DR. I'm actually most concerned about DR for Lillith. Did you do her on p8 too?

Highlights:

For lilith/duriel/izual I would just use hammers. Getting to each of them can be a real pain smiting because of the incidental packs of guys everywhere. It should be doable with prevent monster heal. Or use hammers for the monsters then switch to smiting for each boss.

With your smite speed at max (which it will be with grief pb) as long as life tap is up you don't die. I didn't try with no DR, but she went down fast and I did fine on p8. Dungoes also works for a belt, or maybe using a shaftstop? 30% is huge. Then it's just resists cause mephy is an ass and has conviction aura.

Ya, I use both hammers and zeal to fight my way to the mini ubers. grief / exile & hoto / spirit on switch. Easy enough because I usually have a barb in the game for BO. Early ladder I make a barb & pally, so nn CtA for UT. Only VMware
