Back to the bedeviled gateway Abhaya, as suspected, there little worth noting here. Indeed the searing heat is overwhelming, perhaps when we arise, the ice above will temper our steel.

The time was ripe to enter what from below appeared to be final cavern of this peak, and we did so with haste. It was clear from the very beginning that we were to be tested.

We've shattered many of these ice ogres with ease, yet they feel stronger here. I suspect the heights to which we've risen emboldens them.

I stood against him, the violence washing over me as a dream. It was only when the ill-fated mass foolishly attempted an attack on Abhaya that I quickly drove my sword, twisted, and left nothing to find.

This passage we must hold in our minds, but alas our suffering must continue. It would be witless to enter now.

Just as I turned back the golden adornments on this urn; I indeed exposed its malice.

Easy it would have been to let go, let these brutes crush my bones and rest for all time. My will was fading as morning mist, yet through some happenstance, under the height of these demons, I saw her eyes.

Abhaya, it was clear that she had the look of fear upon her countenance, muscles trembling, eyes piercing. I almost began to laugh, for it was her arrows that did the true piercing. Her fury ignited my own, and once again I felt as we'd been made whole. Spines shattered and limbs fell away; though I suffer still, I cannot leave this maiden to suffer greater.

The rest fell easily to our rage; and while the peace of a night's comfort was at hand, it was certain that my blade was yet hungry and Abhaya's eyes still wild with fervor.

We will enter here, even if it is to be our last venture. The mangled bones at the entrance have made it clear that what lies below awaits to rend our flesh.

Frozen though their corpses lay,
Nevermore to grace bright day,
Fire burns the wastes of those,
Whom chance ignited and yet froze.

Swords are fickle metal strands,
And arrows wither in one's hands.
Yet flesh and bone do stand alone,
To face all that an eye has shown.

While their blows were swift and powerful, their intellect was lacking. Blade in hand and bow relentless, we challenged this great beast and his brothers.

The cold here freezes one's breath, and my armor creaks. Yet, I will take its blessings; for at least these disemboweled masses are devoid of the stench that we faced in the jungles.

Abhaya seemed almost saddened that we slaughtered them so... Upon discovering one still groaning, she mercifully put an arrow through his heart.
