My scariest moment of A3 was definitely where it was least expected. I ran into a cursed, might pack of bats in sewers: https://clips.twitch.tv/TangentialIgnorantPuffinTF2John A little over 2k dmg in an instant.

I actually cleared all of Lower-Upper Kurast and Travincal before heading into sewers. These maps were surprisingly consistent with Aura enchanted. I saw several blessed aim, might, fanaticism, holy freeze, and conviction packs across all these overworld maps (almost 1 per each map) - W T F. That said it was very manageable and the only difficulty/scare was a FELE+cursed Geleb. I had to let the merc kill him as the risk of taking too much Corpse Explosion damage was a threat. The rest of council was a joke (as they usually are in these runs).

I then went back to do all of the scary temples. I was mostly worried about trap doors. Everything was quite easy and "untrapped" until causeway. I did run into a nasty dual immune poison spider that took some time.

My cause way maps gifted me with two trap doors consiting of a champion snake pack on one door and a mana burning and FE beetle pack on the other. I rejuv'd quite a bit here.

My durance floors 1 and 2 were both "trapped" (as close as it can be) with extra fast dolls. This actually wasn't the issue with these maps. My second floor was heavily front loaded with 3 extra fast Mauler packs. They also had several scary affix combinations like stone skin, cold enchanted, fire enchanted, stone skin (iirc). This was the biggest pain settling into durance 2, but once we got past these packs the other 80% of the maps was quite calm, although immense in layout.

---

I was expecting there to be a conviction Bremm on floor 3 as that's often my kind of luck... go figure he'd have holy fire. This floor and mephisto were a breeze. I switched to MF gear at the end of the fight.

I think that's all to say for A3. I feel pretty confident that A4 should be a cinch. There's no real surprises in that Act. Doesn't mean I won't die just that I feel more in control of my death. Hopefully I play well, the physical resistance and fire immunity in act 4 is nothing to dismiss.

---

Here's my gear and stat. I actually found a 11% LCharm and replaced 3x 3-4% fire SCs, this allowed me to add a +18 life sc I found today too. I can't imagine my gear or stats will be changing much by the end of the game. I did sink 5 stat points into STR incase I found a glove upgrade. Its also much better to get life, rather than str, from charms/gear for this build.

Little did I know that the immediate and first pack I'd face today would set a precedent for Act 4. Doom Knights and Venom Lords on Outer Steppes slowed me down a bit but the map was manageable and safe. The same would be true for plains of despair and city of the damned. There was one conviction caster pack on PoD with soul spawns. But I didn't really have too much to contend with and was able to pull them safely. There wasn't any trouble on City of the damned but I was very excited to have "An Evil Force" again this run (once in normal). I think this run is blessed!

I actually dropped 3 monarchs today. 1 I forgot to check in all the excitement of a raid and killing Hephesto, who was might enchanted and extra fast... YIKES. unfortunately, the other two monarchs rolled 2 and 3os. The one I forgot to check was either socketed or eth too!!  I've had 5 monarchs this run.. 4 misses and one "missed. This game is killing me with cube rolls for socket this run. At least we hit them where it coutns (thanks 293 cruel axe and fuck you larzuk)

Pretty disappointing rune... a Pul, Mal or Um would've had me socketing my Eth Feral Axe and giving me hope at an "Oath". This Fal rune crushed that hope. At least an Ist rune would've had hopes and dreams of a Chains of Honor for the final act considering I already have half a Ber rune...

River of flame was chill. Abyss Knights, Venom Lords (no packs here, yay), and Casters.

---

Remember that precedent that was set on the outset of A4?

These guys take about 20 minutes a piece to kill with open wounds... nvm the fact that the first 2 in Chaos Sanctuary spawn CE+Fast and the other Cursed+Strong... F M L

Have you ever seen a conviction aura De Seis? Hello? I put up a safety tp... let his pack of Extra Fast minions come to me carefully and shockwaved.. as soon as he amped me I bailed. Upon re-entering CS he was now conviction? Oddest thing I've seen? Maybe.

So... over half my chaos sanctuary was literally just killing 3 monsters... thanks game.. 6 venom lord packs in the entirety of a4 and 4 of them get stone skin taking upwards of 80-90 mins to deal with today -.-

---

Not much to say about Big D. Easy, easy, oh fuck that firestorm really hurts, rejuv rejuv, Oh he's Easy. These drops suck...

---

Gear and Stats are the same, as I did not level. However, there were some charm improvements (one pictured today) and as a result I have about 100 more health; I anticipate on getting quite a bit more if I can make it to Anya for the +10@

Thanks for reading! See you in the final act!!!!!!!!!

Part 1 of "The Final Act"

Before starting A5 Hell, I decided it was time to start using up resources. This meant burning my normal socket quest and Um rune to make space for some life charms. It also allowed me to cap cold res. I dropped almost identical boots in Frigid Highlands. They had +1% Fire and +10% FRW so I swapped to these. My Bloody foothill map was quite easy with spear cats and vultures, but frigid had a lot of ranged attackers including skeles which made it unbearable for such a huge map. This paled in comparison to how awful Abbadon was though. Blood Lords are phyiscal immune and were quite the scare!! I had several champions to contend with at the start of Abaddon and they cost me MANY full rejuvs. That said though... I came away with a 4os (via cube socketing) Monarch finally!!!!!!

I actually couldn't stream very long yesterday, but it proved to still be challenging for what little content I completed. I checkpointed Arreat Plateau and dealing with a hefty thresh socket (might and stone skin with his standard cursed :o )

Part 2 of "The Final Act"

Both my crystalline passage and glacial trail were quite easy. The same can not be said for their sub dungeons. Almost every pack I came across in frozen river was cursed... 5 of which were souls, 1 of which had extra strong too, a couple with mana burn.. oh and this guy with conviction aura too... how I survived, I have no idea - this was a terrifying evil urn pop.

Drifter's cavern wasn't comforting either. Fortunately I didn't get an evil urn or center door on this map. But I was, however, abruptly greeted by a pack of Champion FrenzyTaurs. Moon lords being fire immune is still no slouch, especially with one of them being ghostly  but this was slightly better than dealing with their phys immune cousin Blood Lords. I wasted quite a few rejuvs on the first one and got a bit scared to fight more. I tried letting the merc attack them while I stood on one side, but he couldn't really manage to get them much lower than 40% hp. I tried running +psn dmg charms with an xbow and that didn't do much either. I eventually bit the bullet and pulled (carefully) 1 at a time. This requires bouncing oak sage back and forth on the left and right top of the screen to split the two up and get 1 to walk across the bridge. I managed to keep stuns and oak sage up enough that I didn't need to use nearly as many rejuvs. It was a tedious and terrifying fight but a victory in the end! There was also a CE+conviction succubi pack here that was quite scary too. The rest was tame - also worth repeating, NO EVIL URN!!!!

At times it really feels like the game is nearly doing everything at its best effort to kill the run. That said, Pindleskin proved quite easy - even though he was ALSO cursed. The rest of the temple would be fine too, despite my original fears. Halls of Anguish were a breeze - Devilkin, Rot Walkers, and Psn Mages. Halls of Pain were a bit more "painful". Too many zealot pack density with quill rats was a bit tilting at times. However, it was fun to find my first Gheed's

---

Finally to the BIG and SCARY floor.. Snakes, I hate snakes. This map started off infested with ghost, ok no problem. They're quite easy to deal with on this build. It was even looking like there weren't any snakes here. Unfortunately, they did end up being here, and the champions and my evil urn. That said, there wasn't too many and the merc handled most of them safely for me. Nihlathak bit the dust and I was happy to call my stream here today :)

---

Tomorrow will be the final push to Baal. I'm most nervous about Icy Cellar, although Ancients might be an issue - but I don't think so. I think WSK could be nasty with souls+unravelers or taur packs.

Gear and Stats in next post (I gave up about 100 hp to rock the gheeds as a flex on this run)
