it does just as it does when you use charged strike. it's a java version of durability

It does. But does not replenish like it should when throwing. Any insights on that?

No idea, seems like it should replenish. Sorry man.

https://www.diabloii.net/forums/threads/replenishes-quantity-not-working-for-melee-skills.852747/

any throwing weapon (axe, javelin or knife of any quality) at maximum quantity won't replenish quantity lost when melee attacks result in lost durability until quantity is reduced by any throwing (Throw, Left Hand Throw, Double Throw, Poison Javelin, Lightning Bolt, Plague Javelin or Lightning Fury) or an Amazon's Impale (javelins only, of course). Throwing weapons that are replenishing quantity will continue to do so when using melee attacks, but once maximum quantity is replenished they will stop doing so when using melee attacks.

When Throw or a Barbarian's Left Hand Throw are selected for the left or right mouse buttons, quantity is displayed as a blue number in the bottom left corner of their icons.

Also very important for you!

If you reduce quantity (or rather durability) from maximum to zero with melee attacks, then the throwing weapon won't replenish: ethereal weapons will be permanently broken, although non-ethereal weapons can still be repaired (for 1 gold).

Pretty interesting read. Will attempt some testing of my own when I get some free time.
