Easily one of the coolest walkthroughs/reports I've seen in Diablo II. And it's great to see someone trying to protect their mercenary, and going with a rogue. I hope you can keep her safe, good fortunes to thee, O troubled knight!

Oh suffering, I beseech thee. In the final descent to the chambers below, it was clear that we dealt with insanity. But fear, oh no, no fear... Abhaya and I push forward oh mage and will not rest until your spine has crumbled along with these walls.

We haven't seen the stars in days, trapped in these depths. As we traversed these passages deep within the hollow of the mountain, a dying warrior cried out for attention.

He was at his end, it was certain. Yet, his eyes were full of bravery and trust. He spoke of a relic that may yet help us find a path through the shade.

A dark altar of incense burned brightly; the ancient writs inscribed shifted under my gaze, words not willing to be read. I knew we had arrived. Refill your quiver Abhaya, we are nearing the final chapter of this horrid underground.

As predicted his army was strong; we retreated but for only a moment to make hasty plans. By the pagan gods of old, we will send you back into the shadow from whence you came...

For a moment we stood face to face, the mage and I. Despite his denizens all being slaughtered, his eyes showed little fear. Dark allegiances often offer such comfort.

Then from afar, Abhaya sunk an arrow into his rotting flesh. With but a smile, he pulled it through; and the battle had begun.

His arrogance faded as quickly as flames in the void. One cannot flee from suffering. I but managed to land a few blows as Abhaya took him apart. Her rage for the sisters of her past is at times almost uncontrollable.

We banish you to the depths fool. Oh maiden, her mind was frayed, eyes wild, muscles trembling. She looked upon the scene while I lowered the still raised bow in her grasp.

Removing my glove for the first time in days, I wiped the blood from her face. He is gone Abhaya; you've banished him to lesser realms. Let us depart this chaos and rest.

We stood for a moment surrounded by the gore and entrails left behind. I could sense a chorus of old souls that were finally able to depart this prison.

All dressed in black he came;
Dark cloth turned 'round his mane.
Suffering now, bitter flames he feels;
Finality of wrath, lapping at his heels.

Before collapsing for the night, I thought it wise to keep this relic. Perhaps there may be some use for it yet.

Abhaya already slumbered upon returning from my rounds through the village. A storm was in the air, and the old woman had fetched a fleece to keep her well. My eyes grow weary of seeing Abhaya with wounds as these.

I watched over her for some time before I too gave into exhaustion.
