Act 3:

Free 20 hp + BO





I have two items that give a 5% chance for frost nova which means that when I fight the endless flayers it goes off all of the time. Very helpful.

I'm actually using the ring Ormus gave me. That never happens.



First skill. Not the right kind but still nice to see.

Third set piece. I also got Isenharts sword but Isenharts is practically mandatory




Once I'm through with Stormtree I'm finally out of the forest. I hate the forest.

Well look what Stormtree dropped. Not only am I onto the good part of act 3 but I get a much improved shield. 4th unique.





Both my merc and I have open wounds so battles can get very messy.

Get me out of the sewer and away from those exploding dolls.



Looked what dropped just before the council, an even better shield.

Another skill. One of these days it will be the right one.

This fight took about 5 minutes and a trip back to town for more potions but it was harmless.



Useless



The only piece of gear I actually like besides my shield.

End of Act 3. I'll probably do a few meph runs tomorrow but it takes a long time so it wont be many. Then it's on to act 4.

Let me know if you want to see anything differently or in a different format from now on. I'm always open to any gameplay or WT suggestions.

Looking good so far! A couple tips I can offer:

Try the runeword "Stealth" in a two socket armour (breast plate best style on barb IMO, you can shop them from Fara in Act 2). Can get the runes super easy from Countess and it offers some great early game bonuses.

Secondly, once you get to slightly higher levels you might consider Frenzy. No defense bonus on attack but damage will be much better and it's still uninterruptable. Going without a shield may feel scary at first but as long as you've got hard hitting weapons and some life leech you'll tank like a boss!

Regarding dealing with physical immunes later in the game, one point in Berserk can be useful, just be sure to accompany it with Howl spam as 0 defense + no shield = potential ouch. Ideally you'll want an Act 2 Might merc (offensive from NM difficulty) with Reaper's Toll. Before that, if you're using ladder rune words, Lawbringer on an Act 5 mercenary also works great, especially on boss runs like Meph, which is the primary stop for item upgrades for many WTs.
