A lot of patience is required for 1.07, but if you like long-term projects and watching movies etc while doing thousands of repetitive runs it can be fun and well-rewarding at the end.
MF is completely useless, I would say. There are certain breakpoints to force uniques and sets, but these values are quite high, for example: 554 MF is requred to force uniques from Hell Act Bosses and 376 or something like that to force sets from Hell uniques and superuniques.
Also keep in mind that Act Bosses can only drop according to their normal TC (nothing above TC33 can be obtained via Act Bosses) and all the other mobs are capped at TC66 (e.g. you can farm Wizzardspike from Hell Council minions, but you will never be able to get Grandfather or Arky from any mob).
The best way to obtain end-game uniques and sets is the so-called rack running. Racks can drop items above TC66, so for example you can farm Shako or Laying of Hands from Hell LK armor racks (the odds are 1:1000 for uniques and 1:120 for sets).
The good thing is, that 1.08 is even more fucked up in terms of item finding, so better to stay in 1.07 to get some nice vintage stuff. :P
There is only a few item, which can only be obtained in 1.08: Eaglehorn, Windforce M'avina's Caster and Stormspire (archon staff) - you can not find these items in 1.07 since racks can not drop wooden weapons (bows, staves, wands).
Btw: what is your end-game build?
Yeah I read all the details about 1.07 last night, I should have read it before starting
My last time doing sp was 1.09 and everything went smoothly so I assumed it would be the case with this.
Honestly now after knowing what I do, I don’t know if I’m going to continue playing at all.
I usually pick up a video game and play it for about a week until I’m bored and then continue on with my life, this sounds like way too much of a boring grind for me
