Yes, I am doing this alone and without any help or cheats, if that's what you're suggesting. It's entirely possible and not very difficult to be honest. I've been playing for not even 2 months on this character, and I have already obtained the following gear goals:

Holy fuck HLs congrats!! That's Duress is looking sexc even though I've never been a big fan of that armour

What stat don't you like and what armor would you wear that costs roughly the same? I can't think of one for a melee character.

EDIT: About duress, personally as zealer I never need additional resist, CB or OW, I'd probably prefer something with life like a Lionheart or Dury

He already has CBF from Raven, so Dury = NN, and Duress > Lionheart, especially since he don't have Gores and Dracs yet cause of the OW! :)

Agreed Lionheart is better than Dury. I have to disagree with you though, 50 life and 60 stats is a potential 230 life gain which is huge for a fragile zealer. OW is unnecessary for most mobs except for bosses, he uses a Gully so not much use for more CB.
