I started today by crafting. It didn't go poorly but certainly didn't go perfectly. In total I crafted: Safety Boots 9x > Blood Gloves 10x > Blood Belt 2x > Hit Power belt 9x > Hit Boots 3x - mostly in this order.

I really only ended up with 1 viable boot and belt craft. I rolled 2 options for gloves. Because of this I did some gambling. I mostly bought great axes while picking up boots and plated belts as I saw them. ~3m gold later I had 2 viable set options. I'm curious what you guys would personally prefer. I'm currently leaning towards set 2 as I value the quality of life via FRW and inventory space slightly more than 1fpa of FHR (have an 8% charm if I want to neutralize). The rest is just a trade off of some reduction vs life and stats. I do like the CB and leech in set 1.

---

Here's a look at all the charms. I've circled the ones I'm hoping to replace as I journey through hell so that I can pick up some more inventory space... even if its 1 tile at a time:

---

After my defensive gear was squared away I began work on the real barrier to hell entry.. a weapon:

Hopefully the images are readable enough.. it took a while sorting and cropping all this.

Thanks for reading!

Ultimately, I ended up at 129.5 weapon damage at 10fpa. A bit of a whiff to the 150 @ 9 minimum I wanted. 2os would've taken me to 8. However 2os on the Gothic Axe (which I didn't trust larzuk to socket) would've been 176 @ 9. It was a hard call but I knew I had to take the safer, faster option. I didn't want to put my stream through a third day of shopping, and had set the contingency that I'd socket something after 10-13h.

---

I was a bit tilted after the events of shopping and gambling went so poorly. I decided I was just going to start hell that same day, just to get my toes wet and hopefully erase the memory of the bad shopping day.

It's really not that bad. It doesn't kill too quickly on minion packs, but the other trash melts. A little more physical would've certainly helped out fighting all the fire immunes at the A1 start. I think some of the harder areas (tower, pits, etc) Might end up being slightly quicker due to lack of immunity. That said, I'm terrified of CE/holy freeze packs - my blood moor started with a HF+LE quill rat and another CE quill rat pack next to a champion quill rat pack. I think so long as I have space to move against ranged attackers (preferably some LoS), I'll be fine. Quill rats tend to not stack on top of each other well or move very much at all, so sometimes their positioning is not conducive to shockwave use. This was the issue in Blood Moor, but I still managed. For the record, my last werebear ripped to a CE+LE quill rat in dark wood.

I won't be taking any chances though. I'll be drinking enough thawing pots to last me the entirety of the day and have a CRes of 85.

The good news is, I can still have hope for a thresher/champion axe/giant thresher drop in any of the high area levels. Even if the base is white I can punch holes in it with a p.ammy and start rerolling it with gems; The qLvl will be high enough to make a weapon upgrade. However, thresher cannot roll Cruel or Quickness. But my sole goal with those bases would be to roll enough weapon damage to hit ~200 weapon dmg which is about a 160% ED roll with 2os (to get to 9 fpa) - The recipe gives 1 or 2 sockets each reroll.

---

Here are my stats and gear starting hell. I did decided to go with set 1, but may try out the FRW on set 2 today:

Well, I had cold plains checkpointed - entry into cold plains was a bit frightening. I had 2 packs jump on me almost immediately, both were fire immune (fire enchanted). It wouldn't stop there though.. that map was 80% fire enchanted (and immune) ~8 or 9 immune packs. I went really slow and kept hoping it'd get better.

And it kind of did. I took my time carefully with blood raven. She wasn't really a threat but managing all those undead can be choresome. I also decided I'd clear Stony Field before starting my dungeons in hopes of getting a little bit more exp. I wasn't too nervous about Crypt and Maso, but was terrified of Caves and Underground Passage due to the archer packs.

My entry into stony field FINALLY blessed me with a 4os sword... funny story, I used my last tal rune making a "stealth" to shop faster  I'll have a Tal soon though!

Stony also had a few difficult packs halting my entry in, specifically a might aura skele pack next to a shaman camp.. that's lots of might boosted fallen.

---

Onto the Dungeons. I started with the crypt.. I had some pretty strong zombie packs, the skele packs were mostly non-issues. Although there was a zerker zombie near a might skele here too! I was almost instantly rewarded though. I said from the start of the stream day I only needed to drop a non-magical/magical Champ Axe / Thresher / G.Thresher..

A unique pack leader dropped this for me :) I quickly burned a p.ammy, and amn rune and anticipated rolling quite a few more standard gems than I did. To be fair, my odds were roughly 9.5% to get ED% that'd put me 150+ weapon damage. I ended up with 2os and 175.5 dmg, and so I burned 2x shaels. I'm now at 9fpa and decent physical damage. My split is roughly 40% physical and 60% fire atm. As I find more magical or get more amn runes I'll reroll more items and keep trying to bring this damage up. I do have a thresher stashed for such an occasion (also from a weapon rack in the crypt). However, if the thresher rolls 5os, I'll be saving it for an "Obedience" for the merc. I have a Fal rune but am missing a Ko rune - which I could cube, but I need to save 1 Lum for a hopeful "Oath"

I felt pretty good with my level and damage after Masoleum and it was time to seek out Cold Crow. There were some nasty archer packs in Caves, including an Extra Strong + Might pack. Cold Crow was Fanaticism and Cursed... that's great when you don't have CBF /s

I was very careful with my pack pulling and resetting to try and avoid a quick death.. Often the merc met that fate in my stead (1 or 2 shots = dead)

I also dropped a second coldsteel eye xD too bad that's kind of useless.

My underground passage was going much smoother than my caves. That was, until I found floor 2. This was a pretty awful map for me. I was nearly door trapped by a might aura pack of Lady Hunters. I had to start running to pull her away from the door to not trap my map. It doesn't help this map is infested with fallen and shaman. I narrowly escaped - unbeknownst to me had I gone much further there was a skele CELE archer pack there that would've likely ended my run with might aura. Coming back into the map nearly proved unfruitful as I was also greeted on the other part of the map by an FELE + Mana Burn afflicted pack.. I reset and pulled and manipulated this map so much... constantly running back in to set myself up for success. This was nearly as bad as my kicksin's crazy drifter's cavern. But after all that effort I finally pulled it off.. I was fairly certain this floor was going to be my death.

I have now completed Dark Wood and Tristram which is a personal best in my druid single pass. My previous run ended to a CELE quill rat that I stupidly didn't drink thawing pots for.

---

Speaking of thawing pots, here are my resists after drinking hundreds of thawing and antidote potions today.

I'm pretty pleased with how today went, especially after nightmare's luck. I'm still worried about my Tower, The Hole, and The Pit. But once I get past those maps, I should be in the clear for the rest of act 1 and act 2 start so long as I play carefully.

Thanks for reading.

edit: I forgot to add that I've 15 unspent stat points. I'm waiting to see if I need them for an "Oath" (186 str) or a "Thresher" (118 dex). Once my "Spirit" Is made I should have about 2200 Health and climbing from here on out.

I appreciate the kind words! I don't think I'll be seeing a ravenfrost with 0 mf sadly.

The second half of Act 1 could be summed up by a couple of terrifying packs.. 3 conviction+FELE packs at various points, lots of stone skin+FE, and one really really bad multi archer pack, next to a might+cursed, next to a champion archer, next to a FE pack, next to a bunch of afflicted at the entrance of The Hole:
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/718191984 (28 min clip, suggest 2x speed - its worth it)

However, things went well otherwise. I finally started dropping some runes. Up to this point all I'd seen was a single ort. Mind you I really needed some Tals. I burnt an Amn kind of hoping for 5os thresher for obedience, but the 4os where a nice runner up.

Tower was beyond tame. Especially with how The Hole went. I was anticipating nightmares in tower and The Pit. Some maps left a lot to be desired.. including floor 5 - although it was semi trapped, it was very easy to deal with the champ goats, archers and wraiths waiting to ambush me.

Chat must of guessed just about every possible rune except Sol... lmfao fuck me sideways, never a good countess.

Another 1/3rd lum drop is never unwelcome. Honestly, The Pit 1 had a really nasty pack at the start that had me semi-trapped, but after that it was smooth sailing. Even floor 2 was grossly easy - I was fortunate that the packs that spawned here were devilkin and not archers.

---

I tried my luck at a final boot imbue. Another big whiff.

Black Jade might as well have been physical immune as well with 95 PDR. I had to go make another "steel" Military Axe - I should've never trashed the first one. It was surprisingly efficient in handling the monster and would prove useful later too!

The Tal runes finally came in and boy am I happy.. never have I waited this long!!! This was a big damage boost for the merc.

---

First dual immunity. A little scary because of how hard he hits, but also thankfully super slow. Proc OW and run away or kite around the merc. EZ

Andariel was packing a wallop so I grabbed some psn res charms to bring my resistance up a bit higher than the 49 I was running. I just rejuved this fight and burned her down. Of course, the drops weren't anything special. RIP ravenfrost dreams.

I'm really really excited that I made it to Act 2 with my favorite class and one of my favorite builds. It was really hard fought. The death traps in underground pass 2 and The Hole 1 left me feeling really unsure that I'd survive the act.

---

Onto Act 2, I anticipate the burden of fire immunes to be easier to contend with. There's not a lot that gets PI off stone skin here either. Packs that could be problematic would be dual immune Blunderbores - could very well happen. Stone Skin greater mummies (guardians) could be kind of annoying. I'll see how it all plays out, but I'm feeling good.

Next post will have gear and stats.

Sewers had some interesting packs at the start, like a Multi+Strong archer pack but it was pretty smooth sailing. I often find my Act 2 Hell start is much easier than blood moor and most of Act 1's overworld.

This was a pretty funny drop.. I have no idea what I'm doing with it. Chat thinks I should make a "Wind" for the lulz, but I don't have a 2os Feral Axe (minor upgrade right now). Not really interested in investing the 10 str there either. I can shop/chippy a better weapon than "Wind" in A3. I'm holding onto in hopes of a pipe dream "Chains of Honor"

Halls of the Dead - A.K.A. My "Favorite" Place.... (not really)

This place is easily my least favorite area in the game and can have an entire write up on its own - It took up the bulk of my day. My Halls of the dead floor 1 started with a trapped door with 2 packs, immediately surrounded by 3 champions (1 fanatic) standing adjacent to a fanaticism unique unraveler.... FUN TIMES! But that said, floor 1 was actually the easiest and really not all that bad. I had another champion pack with the Possessed Hollow One (pictured) on the way to floor 2.

Floor 2 had a disgusting 3 adjacent unique packs near a mummy sarcophogus with additional unravelers in the room. One of these unique unravelers even had conviction - at least it wasn't might/fanata.

The worst by far was floor 3. My floor 3 start was trapped by another 2 packs in a large room. I had to move into the room because of a third unraveler pack causing problems.. This only revealed that there were another 5 unravelers in the room including an extra fast unique.. I had to bolt out of the room past everything to try and set up and work my way backwards. This took a long time. I pulled everything I could out of the room with my oak sage, and killed all the skeles far away from their greater mummies. This eventually allowed me to get the unique and subsequent unravelers down.

---

Much like my overworld maps, there isn't really anything to note about maggot lair. It was easy. I did have one tiny scary thanks to the utterly dumb AI on my merc - he let an extra strong mana burn beetle pack leader past him. But other than that, just very easy maps.

---

I feel very good about eating some snake meat tomorrow. Unravelers in claw viper would be pretty tilting. I'm pretty sure the spawn there would also be fire immune... But I'll manage. I'm looking to avenge quite a few runs tomorrow!
