Hey James,

Thank you for creating this Post!
In my mind, this sense of community that you help establishing with a post like this is exactly what this forum needs - and have been needing for a while :)
I'm truly amazed how a video game this old can still keep the interest of so many like-minded souls (nerds) and luckily we have this forum in which to share our experience, get tips, and support each other.
Unfortunately I think various trolls and impolite behaviour has been on a rise for some time here, so I fully support us getting back on track with all the nice things this forum can bring.

My name in Chris by the way, I'm from Denmark, will be a first time father in the fall (RiP D2 time), and I engineer wind turbines for a living.
I'd call myself a casual D2-gamer. After giving up on Battlenet, coming here to the SP forum was really helping me getting the D2-joy back and I've enjoyed following countless WT here - even posted a few of my SC toons myself hoping it could bring at least some people a bit a joy.
A big thank you to all of you guys who put in the effort to continue to share your D2 experience with the rest of us.
Let's keep the forum clean and enjoyable for all
/Nissen

Congrats in regard to upcoming child! That's big news! I didn't really expect such personal responses, but it is awesome! Kudos to you for being an engineer (mechanical, I presume). One of my best friends is a mechanical engineer in Charlotte, NC and words for Ooler (they make fancy temperature controlled mattresses or something like that lol). I do love that this online forum allows us to get to know people from different parts of the world. I've always wanted to travel to various European countries such as Germany, Denmark, England, Spain, France, etc. Airfare is stupid cheap right now so maybe! haha. Well devote time and care to yourself and your family after the birth of your child, but try not to forget about us here! At least check in once in a while and let us know how the yourself and your growing fam are doing! It's wonderful to get to meet you, Chris.

It's wonderful to meet you all!! I greatly look forward to conversing with you all and enjoying discussion as well as playing this game along with my fellow "nerds" (Nissen put it so well)!

By the way, thanks for everyone's advice in relation to not following d1no's example. It is duly noted!!

My name is Trevor and I am a bushcraft enthusiast, please talk to me in depth about all bush-crafting gear and tips, especially conversations about knives, hatchets, and shelter-making (I’m not crazy I swear!). My favourite hobby is building a minimalist bush-crafting/survivalist pack because it makes you address some difficult questions. You have to decide what goes in, and then you get the fun of comparing the different specs of all the different brands of said items. I have 3 packs tbh. A day pack for hiking, a long-term camping pack which is basically a huge backpack filled with luxurious items like a tent and cookware. Then my bushcraft/survivalist pack which is by far the most fun to design and stock. The idea is to build a basic pack with only essential items you’d want to survive in a given region while staying weight and space conscious. Normally I don’t like to talk much about my personal life online but I have been day drinking

Hey Trevor! That is probably the most manliest hobby that I've ever heard.... My main interest includes putting a ball through a hoop from a distance or watching other people do it, and here you are forging knives and preparing for survival while incorporating a a formula determining the approximate weight/value of an item.. I am very impressed. I have 0 knowledge pertaining to this stuff but it sounds awesome! How would I even start to get involved in this???

This is a great YouTube channel, a couple of cousins who enjoy bushcrafting who release episodes of them doing survivalist stuff, it's good to get you into the idea of it all. If what they do seems enjoyable or interesting to you and if you have lots of nature around you or accessible to you, it could be a great idea to get into it! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcdX6Av36HZKSBB5ZnW92Ng

E/ this video I enjoyed a lot on knives vs axes ^_^ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OO_I8ICp4gU
