I was always under the impression they stacked, but even if they don't stack and they act independently only marginally difference. 50% rolled twice is 75% chance to deadly per attack. Or if u stack it's 100%

I had to lure this fellow away from his gang of fire witches

Action shot on Meph. Had to town once to get more potions but apparently I am fairly hard to hit. It took about 10 mins to kill him.
