Personally I think Archon Plate makes a terrible enigma base. One of the best things about Enigma is that with the plus strength/level you don't need to invest anything into strength. Just pure vit/dex. Archon's 103 strength requirement negates that. A Mage Plate only requires 55 strength and is something you can easily obtain with your base 25 plus your anni/+5 from maras and +2 from H Crest. I just think +100 life is much better than 250 defense.
you can bug on AP enigma pretty easily especially with extended stash so you can hoard all the +str crap you want. he has anni, and it's not difficult finding +15str rings/amulets. that's over +55 str just from jewelry
