Question from a long time player of D2 who hasn't played in about 7 years...how do you know if a socketed item is "elite"? Sounds like those are the best ones to make runewords out of, especially for your Act2 mercenary.

Are you using unlimited re-specs? That patch came after I stopped playing. Were there any other major changes or added items/runewords in patches that added the allowed re-specs?



I am probably going to start playing again at next ladder re-set. Would you say that a cold (orb) sorc is best in normal & nightmare, then re-spec'ing to Blizzard/cold frost is best for Hell? Also, are the runewords you made early-on typically the best until you start finding more elite items?

Is MF'ing useless in norm/nm other than NM meph?

Yes, patch 1.13 brought the ability to re-spec, which is extremely useful.

If your going to start a sorc at ladder reset, FO is probably best skill to use in norm and NM and then re-specing to dual element such as FO/FB or Firewall works well.

MF'ing NM Meph can be pretty fruitful (Occy, Vgaze, Titans, Jalals, etc). And ofc hell Meph can drop lots of good items (Shako, Kiras, Reaper's Toll, etc).

Nice progress and rune drops! I had no idea a berserker axe could drop in lower kurast. Also, you can't find arachnid mesh in lower kurast because it requires an item level of 87.
